Abstract

The effect of different weed control methods on weed population, yield and yield attributes of soybean was studied at TNAU, Coimbatore, using pre-emergence application of pendimethalin, fluchloralin and alachlor each @ 1.0 kg/ha as well as integrated application of pre-emergence herbicide+one hand weeding at 35 DAS, and two hand weedings at 20 and 35 DAS. Alachlor @ 1.0 kg/ha+one hand weeding at 35 DAS was found to be the best treatment followed by pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg/ha+one hand weeding at 35 DAS and two hand weedings at 20 and 35 DAS treatments. The quality parameters of soybean seeds were not affected by weed control practices. Key words : Weed-crop competition, complex weed flora, integrated approach.
