Abstract
Rising food prices, low cereal yields, low farm incomes, and a rapidly growing population have focused Nigerian attention on the need to increase production of cereals - especially maize, rice, wheat and sorghum/millet. A survey wss conducted to consider the possibility of an "Accelerated Cereal Production Programme" aimed at these crops. The survey team was orgnised to examine an approach by which modern agricultural technology could be used to stimulate a dramatic increase in cereal production in Nigeria and to direct recarmendations to Government
