Abstract
Experiments showed that the 25- to 45-day period after sowing was when it was most crucial to provide weed-free conditions to finger millet. Weeding operations done earlier than 25 days after sowing affected the grain yields adversely and weed free conditions beyond 45 days after sowing did not give any additional advantage. Repeated weedings to provide weed-free conditions for the longer duration decreased the yield
