Abstract
Eleusine coracana cv. CO 7 was grown in pot trials in clay soils of very low exchangeable Mg content at 2 levels of lime, 2 levels of K2O and 4 levels of Mg. N as ammonium sulphate and P as diammonium phosphate were applied at 40 and 20 kg/ha, resp. On Titukkal soil, root yield and total DM accumulation increased at Mg conc. up to 150 kg/ha, while highest shoot and grain yields were obtained at 50 kg Mg/ha. On Doddabetta soil, root and shoot yields increased up to 150 kg Mg/ha. Liming decreased grain yields on both soil types, while K application did not increase grain and shoot yield or total DM accumulation
