Abstract
ONE of the pests of sorghum that has recently assumed serious proportions causing intensive damage is the sorghum midge Contarinia sorghicola. The serious damage caused by this insect in sorghum even to the extent of complete loss of the crop necessitates the ways of control of this major pest. Young (1962), Roering and Randolph (1963), Harding (1965) and Harris (1970) reported a few chemicals effective against this pest.
