Abstract
Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) is an important pest of sorghum and causes considerable loss in grain yield. The studies conducted at the Regional Research Station, Dhawar indicated that the insecticides Sevidol, endosulfan, carbofuran and quinolphos applied in the plant whorl at 5 and 7.5 kg/ha after 25th and 35th days of germination, were effective in stem borer control. Fenitrothion tried in one season was ineffective and phytotoxic. There was no significant difference between two and three applictions of these insecticides
