Abstract
A negative correlation existed between intensity of leaf disease, caused by Ascochyta sorghicola, Cercospora sorghi, Glomerella graminicola, Trichometasphaeria turcica, Phyllosticta sorghi and Puccinia sorghi, and grain yield in five varieties, CK60B having the lowest correlation coefficient followed by 302, Pila amla, PJ4K10 and Vidisha in that order. Ability to sustain losses due to disease placed the varieties in the following descending order 302, Pila amla, PJ4K10, CK60B and Vidisha. The superiority of 302 over CK60B in its ability to sustain losses in spite of its higher regression coefficient is attributed to its higher yielding capacity and branching habit
