Abstract

The dry winter has resulted in feed shortages on many Farms. Farmers with irrigation facilities are comtemplating Different means of growing summer feed. Within irrigation areas, most have some permanent pasture that will be watered to provide this feed. However, many who irrigate from bores or rivers do not have the same area of irrigated pasture. One prospect (which Is of interest especially to the latter group), is the production of summer forage crops such as Japanese millet or sorghum - sudan Grass hybrids
