Abstract
JOWAR for fodder is sown with the onset of monsoon. It is a major crop grown for fodder in northern part of the country. This crop gets heavily infested with annual and perennial grassy and broad-leaf weeds, which emerge with the germinating crop seedlings and grow along with them. High temperature accompanied by high humidity and moisture provide favourable conditions for weed growth, which creates severe competition between crop and weeds, thereby reducing the crop yield constderably.
