Abstract

In trials with sorghum cv. M.P. Chari sown on 14 July, cutting the crops 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70 days after sowing gave DM yields of 0.74, 3.02, 4, 4.31 and 4.58 t/ha, resp.; their ratoon crops given 30 kg N/ha gave grain yields of 1.45, 0.65, 0.3, 0.35 and 0.13 t/ha, resp. Data on chemical composition of fodder in different treatments are given. Cutting 50-60 days after sowing was the opt. date for obtaining high DM yields of good quality
