Abstract

The method is based on hydrolysis of diuron to 3,4-dichloroaniline followed by diazotization and colour development by reacting with an alkaline solution of beta -naphthol. The developed dye was dissolved in acetone and the colour absorption measured at 540 m mu m against distilled water as blank. The sampling, extraction procedure, purification and chromatographic clean-up are described. The method is sensitive between the range of 1 ppm. and 20 ppm. diuron
