Abstract

In plot trials, sorghum was given 40 kg N/ha as ammonium sulphate, f.y.m. or poultry manure, and 3 cuts were taken. Total fresh matter yields were 71.24, 55.31 and 55.92 t/ha, respectively, compared with 46.62 t/ha in plots given no fertilizer. In herbage from the 2nd cut, DM contents were 27.1, 29, 28.5 and 25%, respectively, and CP contents were 6.44, 5.20, 5.53 and 4.04%. Fertilizer treatment had almost no effect on Ca and P contents of herbage
