Abstract
The correlation coefficients at genotypic level between eighteen quantitative characters and path coefficients were estimated in seven sweet sorghum genotypes. Genotypic correlations clearly established the positive and significant relationship between brix and pol percent but significant and negative relation between brix and ear head weight and brix and grain yield. Partitioning of the correlation coefficient through path analysis indicated that the direct effects of brix and juice volume was maximum (38.11) followed by brix and CCS yield (17.01). Analysis of variance revealed that PCV was higher than GCV for all the traits under study. Higher PCV was recorded for juice yield, while higher broad sense heritability value was observed for days to fifty per cent flowering (97.9%). Whereas, higher heritability value coupled with high GAM % was observed for juice yield, indicating the variability was due to additive gene effects.
