Abstract

Grain sorghum cv. H610 grown on Truffin clay soil under irrigation was given 0, 1 or 2 kg Zn and 100, 125, 150 or 175 kg P/ha. In general yields were low, but were highest at 2.31 t/ha following application of 125 kg P and 1 kg Zn/ha, and tended to decrease with higher or lower application rate of either element. P X Zn interactions were significant. Leaves were sampled at 20, 42 and 69 days after germination and analysed for contents of N, P, Zn and Ca. P:Zn ratio averaged 143
