Abstract
Placement of nitrogen (in the form of ammonium sulphate) was most effective for sorghum yields at 15cm depth. N applications gave no further yield increases at rates above 56 kg/ha. Under the current practice of P placement at 5 cm to the side of the crop row, split applications were no more effective than single applications
