Abstract
Data are tabulated on genetic variance, heritability and genetic advance for percentage protein content of grains, yield and nine yield components in 101 Pennisetum americanum S4 lines from a land race. Days to earing, days to maturity, ear length, ear circumference, percentage protein content and yield/plant all showed high broad-sense heritability with high genetic advance. Yield/plant, and yield/plot were positively correlated with plant height, tillers/plant, ears/plant, ear length and test weight. Path coefficient analysis revealed that yield improvement could be achieved by selection for plant height, tillers/plant and yield/plot
