Abstract
Poor establishment is a major problem of summer cropping in northwestern New South Woles. Sorghum establishment can be improved by using press wheels at planting (see "Press wheels improve sorghum establishment" in the February, 1975. Agricultural Gazette). Press wheels used correctly can improve field emergence, particularly under drying soil conditions. In this article we make practical suggestions on how to construct and use individual press wheels to improve summer crop establishment
