Abstract

The mean performance of 21 generations (including the parental, F1, F2, BC1, BC2 and F3 as well as selfed, single and biparental crosses among these generations) of a cross between two inbred lines of Pennisetum americanum, for tillers/plant, plant height, ear length and ear girth was subjected to eight scaling tests (A, B, C and D of K. Mather [PBA 19, p.913], O of B. Opsahl [PBA 28, 1125] and X, Y and Z of J.H. van der Veen [PBA 30, 973]). Most of the tests revealed the presence of nonallelic interactions and genotype X environment interactions were also observed
