Abstract
The parental, F1, F2, BC1, BC2 and F3 generations of a cross between two inbred lines of Pennisetum americanum were grown at two sites and evaluated for tiller number, plant height, ear length and ear circumference. Negligible genotype environment interactions were observed for tiller number and ear length. The analysis used was inadequate to explain the genetic variance of the four traits studied
