Abstract
The stem rot of chickpea (Gicer arietinum L.) incited by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary has emerged as new problem in Kota region of Rajasthan, causing damage to the crop since 1993-94. The fungus produced symptoms on all the aerial parts of the plants. Usually, the plants are attacked at flowering stage. The severely infected seeds remain undeveloped, lighter and chalky.
