Abstract
In Queensland 2 groups of bullocks, each of 15 Herefords 3 years old and weighing about 860 lb and 15 Santa Gertrudis 2 years old and weighing 750 lb, grazed sorghum stubble which had some succulent growth and were given to appetite sorghum grain with 8% crude protein or molasses and urea. For 4 weeks 1.5% sodium bicarbonate was added to the grain and thereafter 2.5% biuret with S. Daily intakes of supplements were 19.8 lb grain and 0.7 oz [1 oz = 28.35 g] urea. Daily liveweight gain in 76 days was 2.8 lb with grain and 1.1 lb with urea and molasses
