Abstract

In trials in 1966, '67 and '70, the hybrid sorghum cv. H610 was harvested at intervals of 3-5, 8 and 7 days, respectively. Grain starch content was negatively correlated with moisture content in each year but protein content was unrelated to moisture content. The results suggested that any advantage from early harvesting in terms of yield should be balanced against possible reductions in the nutritive value of the grain
