Abstract

The pest was known as Atherigona idica and has recently been renamed as Atherigona varia. Thc insect is 3 serious pest of sorghum in the Sudan, India, East and West Africa, Ceylon and some Middle East countries. Other relatives of the best are reported to attack a wide variety of crops e.g. Atherigona exigua attacks maize, Atherigona orizae attacks rice, Atherigona orientalis attacks tomatoes...
