Abstract

Varietal differences were noted regarding response to five levels of N application; N uptake was highest in NJ156. This variety had a higher 1000-grain weight than CSH1, CSH2 and Swarna but ear length, breadth and weight and grain yield per ear were higher in CSH1, CSH2 and Swarna than in NJ156.
