Abstract

Sorghum hybrid CSH-1 gave significantly higher grain yield than variety Swarna. Nitrogen application up to 120 kg/ha increased the grain yield; higher rates had a depressing effect. An increase in plant population also increased the grain yield. Optimum rates of nitrogen for CSH-1 and Swarna were 132 and 140 kg N/ha respectively.
