Abstract
In the studies reported, although the rainfall of 528 mm during the growth period (104 days) of jowar [sorghum] cv. CSH-1 exceeded its potential evapotranspiration by 310 mm, and the water-table for 82 days never dropped below 120 cm, the crop made a good growth and produced 45 hkg grain + 225 hkg straw/ha, indicating that CSH-1 is tolerant of excessive soil moisture.-M.S.M.
