Abstract

Application of 35 and 50 kg N/ha in 1-4 dressings to E. coracana gave grain yields of 1.75-2.4 and 1.82-2.03 t/ha, resp. With 50 kg N/ha the highest yields were obtained by applying 10 or 25 kg N/ha at sowing and the remaining N at the flag leaf stage. There was no significant difference with N applied as a top-dressing or foliar spray in addition to basal dressing, but a foliar spray at the heading stage increased the 1000-grain wt
