Abstract

The insects observed infesting sorghum heads in Georgia, where this crop is being grown increasingly as a feed grain crop, comprised Contarinia sorghicola (Coq.), Heliothis zea (Boddie), Nola (Celama) sorghiella (Ril.), Ostrinia nubilalis (Hb.), Lygus sp., Nezara viridula (L.), Oebalus pugnax (F.), Leptoglossus phyllopus (L.), Sitophilus sp., Sathrobrota rileyi (Wlsm.), and unidentified weesils, and the numbers found on loose and compact sorghum heads are shown in a table
