Abstract
Seed samples of Pennisetum americanum hybrid KM 2 were dried at 29, 38, 48 and 53°C. Drying was very fast during the 1st hour. To reduce seed moisture from 24.4% to 9.6-10.1%, seeds had to be dried for 24, 9, 6, 4 and 3 h at 29, 38, 43, 48 and 53°, resp. In an accelerated aging test, seeds dried at 29, 38 and 43° gave highest germination values (86.7, 80.7 and 81.3%, resp.) and highest vigour indices (2638, 2242 and 2227, resp.)
