Abstract

Grain yield and 11 related characters were studied in 6 male-sterile lines, 7 restorers and their hybrids over 2 seasons in 1979-80. Line performance and hybrid performance were positively and significantly correlated for all the characters, indicating that line evaluation per se could be used for identifying elite parental lines for hybridization programmes
