Abstract
Grain N, K and starch contents differed significantly among the 14 varieties tested, but P and ash contents showed no significant differences. There were significant varietal differences for protein content but not for leucine content as a percentage of protein content. Leucine content was negatively correlated with N and K concentrations and grain yield. Ash and starch contents were positively correlated with each other. CSH5 had the highest starch content and calorific value
