Abstract

In trials with sorghum cv. M.P. Chari in 1969-70, application of 90 kg N/ha increased average fresh fodder yields from 12.2 t/ha without N to 25-27.6 t/ha, increased CP yield from 159 kg to 461-499 kg/ha and increased CP content in the DM. The effects on yields of the application of N in a single dressing at sowing or in 2 dressings at sowing and as a top-dressing were similar. The CP content was markedly higher in a dry year than in a year with normal rainfall
