Abstract

In trials during 1968-69 in which Tafazine (simazine 50%) and Afalon (linuron 50%) both at 1 kg and 2,4-D-sodium 1.68 kg/ha (all plus or minus one hoeing and earthing) were applied one day after sowing sorghum, the highest yield in the main crop and the second highest in the ratoon crop, were obtained with Afalon + hoeing and earthing. In ratoon sorghum 2 hoeings, weedings and earthings gave the highest yield. Culm length was significantly reduced in the weedy controls
