Abstract

In trials with sorghum cv. Swarna, application of Afalon N [linuron] or Tafazine 50W [simazine] at 1 kg a.i./ha 1 day after sowing followed by 1 hoeing and weeding 6 weeks after sowing gave grain yields of 3.7 and 3.5 t/ha, respectively, compared with 2.86 t/ha for traditional cultivation (1 hoeing and weeding followed by hoeing, weeding and earthing) and 0.94 t/ha for unweeded controls
