Abstract

Thirty hybrids were planted at rates of approximately 1, 1% and 2 pounds of seed Per acre in the 1Q71 Akron ~ommercial Grain Sorghum Test. These rates are about 18,000, 26,000, and 34,000 seeds Per acre, respectively Average grain yields from these rates were 42, 47 and 60 bushels per acre, respectively. but some hybrids produced well over 70 bushels per acre at the highest seeding rate. Test weights averaged 53 pounds per bushel regardlen of the seeding rate Under the dryland conditions of northeastern Colorado. the rate of about 2 pounds of seed per acre was superior in this test...
