Abstract
The devastating effects of anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum gramlnieala (Ces.) C.W. Wils., on sorghum, Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench., in Coergia and other humid areas are well established. The causal organism attacks the entireabove ground portion of the sorghum plant (2). In Illinois in 1943, Koeler (4) attributed a root and stalk rot as well as death of leaves and brush of broom corn to anthracnose. Coleman and Stokes (1) reported that resistance to leaf and stalk anthracnose was controlled by separate dominant genes that were linked with 9.54 percent crossing over. There is some evidence to....
