Abstract

These studies, involving three crosses, showed that the genotypic components of variance were larger than those of genotype x environment interactions. Heritability estimates for the number of days from sowing to flowering, peduncle diameter and plant height were high and selection for these characters in the F3 or F4 should be effective. Heritability estimates for grain yield, ear weight, grain weight and grain number showed moderately high values
