Abstract
Sorghum was grown in a field experiment during the rainy season in 1983 at Allahabad, India. Treatments were seed inoculation with Azotobacter culture or no inoculation, and 0, 20, 40 or 60 kg P2O5/ha. Inoculation increased grain yield 20.8% and test yield 0.15% compared with control. Both grain yield and test wt of inoculated or non-inoculated plants increased with P rate. For 0, 20, 40 and 60 kg P2O5 treatments, resp., grain yield of uninoculated sorghum was 2.3, 2.8, 3.3 and 4.1 t/ha and for inoculated sorghum 2.9, 3.3, 3.9 and 5.0 t/ha
