Abstract

In trials in 1965-8, the 3 S. cernuum cv. P.K.36K, D.340 and CO. 18, introduced from other districts of S. India, gave average grain yields of 2.05, 1.55 and 1.58 t/ha, respectively, compared with 1.38 t/ha for the local cv. Kakivaya Jonna. In trials on farms in 1965-8', the 3 cv. gave average yields 40, 29 and 5%, respectively, higher than that of the local cv. (0.6 t/ha). MSM.
