Abstract
Three varieties from each of sorghum and maize were selected for the study of changes in ascorbic acid content in the leaf tissues after infection with Peronosclerospora sorghi. A significant increase of ascorbic acid due to downy mildew infection was recorded in all the sorghum varieties tested and in maize varieties Pop corn and Phil. DMR-5
