Abstract
The resistance of 153 lines of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum) in the collection of the North Central Plant Introduction Station, Ames, Iowa, to Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) was evaluated in greenhouse and field tests in 1981-83. Eight of the lines were selected as resistant and 2 as susceptible and retested. Larval feeding weight, pupal weight and larval development time showed that P.I. 176653 was consistently more resistant than the other 7 lines
