Abstract
Since the spikes of plants in the MI generation following trcatmcnts with mutagens are pencrally chinicrical, the MI segregation ratios of recessive mutations in thc individual MI spikes will help to estimatc the size of mutated sector in the MI spikes. A knowledge of the six distribution of mutated sector is of fundanlentil importance for thc development of optimal selection procedures in mutation brceding of crop plants. The size of the MI population grown will have to be based upon knowledge of the size of the mutated sector iq the M,. The size of the mutant sector........
