Abstract

Seeds of 3 rice cv. and 2 sorghum cv., which had or had not been treated with gamma -rays at doses of 10-40 kR, were soaked for 20 h in distilled water only (control) or for 12 h in water and then in GA3 solutions at 10-5, 10-4 or 10-3M for 8 h. Germination and emergence were delayed by gamma -rays or GA3 alone. GA increased seedling height, and coleoptile length in all cv. except rice cv. GEB24.
