Abstract
Sorghum subglabrescens seeds were treated with gamma rays, ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS), methyl methanesulphonate (MMS) and diethyl sulphate (DES) separately or in various combinations of gamma rays + chemical mutagen. The combined treatments were not additive in respect of M1 effects, but the frequency of chlorophyll mutations in the M2 showed additive effects for gamma rays + EMS and less than additive effects for the other combined treatments. Mutagenic efficiency, estimated on the basis of seed sterility, was more than additive for gamma rays + EMS
