Abstract
In the M3 of Co18 plants treated with X rays, gamma rays and ethyl methanesulphonate, all the treatments, except 30 kR X rays, caused an increase in variance in plant height, ear weight and grain weight, but in the M4 variance increased or decreased according to character and treatment. In general, the mean of each of the characters in the treated plants tended towards to the control value. Intergeneration correlations were not significant for plant height but were significant for ear weight in plants treated with 20 and 40 kR X rays and also for grain weight in the control.
