Abstract

Water-soaked seeds of CO12 and CO18 of S. subglabrescens and CO 11 of S. duna were treated with X rays, γ rays and solutions of ethyl methane-sulphonate (EMS), methyl methanesulphonate, diethyl sulfate and /V-nitrosoethylurea. CO 11 proved to be least affected in respect of seed fertility in the M1 and M3. EMS proved the most effective mutagenic agent.
