Abstract

Soaking finger millet [Eleusine coracana] seedlings in 500-2000 p.p.m. Cycocel [chlormequat] for 30 min before transplanting or applying chlormequat as a foliar spray 30 days after transplanting gave similar grain yields, but straw yield was significantly higher with the soaking treatments. Various chlormequat concn. had a similar effect on grain yield, while plant height decreased with increasing concn. especially in the spray treatment. The soaking treatment significantly increased the 1000-grain weight and finger length
