Abstract
Eleven pollinator lines were crossed with each of three male-sterile lines, and observations were made on five characters in the 33 F1 hybrids and parental lines at two localities. There was high heterosis for grain yield and grain number per panicle at both localities. Most of the hybrids showed significant possitive heterosis for plant height and significant negative heterosis for number of days to flowering. Heterosis for 1000-grain weight was very low. There was some differences between localities in the magnitude of heterosis expressed.
