Abstract

Aflatoxins B1 and G1 were demonstrated by column and thin-layer chromatography in all of 8 harvested sorghum samples, in the range 30.32-211.20 and 2.4-208 mu g/kg, respectively. It is suggested that aflatoxin contamination may be prevented by rapid drying of sorghum to a water content at which the growth of toxigenic Aspergillus spp. cannot occur
