Abstract
Grain yield, 100-grain weight, numbers of grains per ear and primary branches per plant, ear weight, plant height and number of days to flowering were studied in progeny derived from the cross CK60B X D340. Additive gene effects were significant for all characters, especially grain yield and number per ear, while nonadditive effects made a major contribution to the inhertance of plant height, 1000-grain weight and days to flowering. Additive X additive and dominance X dominance interactions contributed to heterotic effects for all seven characters.
